Student Loan Repayment Guide Available To Assist Connecticut Borrowers
Attorney General George Jepsen, state Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan Harris and state Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez today introduced a new student loan repayment guide to assist borrowers in Connecticut, which ranks among the top 10 states for average student loan debt.

A New York-based property management company will provide $187,095 restitution to its Connecticut subcontractors and will pay a $50,000 civil penalty to the state of Connecticut under a settlement agreement resolving an investigation into the manner in which it calculated bonuses owed to its subcontractors, Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan A. Harris said today.

Attorney General George Jepsen announced today that Connecticut has joined a $470 million joint state-federal settlement with mortgage lender and servicer HSBC to address mortgage origination, servicing, and foreclosure abuses. Connecticut joins 48 other states, the District of Columbia, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in today’s settlement.

A pediatric dental provider with practices in Milford and West Haven will pay more than $1.3 million to the state and federal government to resolve allegations that he submitted false claims to Connecticut's Medicaid program for x-ray services that did not comply with state law, Attorney General George Jepsen said today.
