• About the Collection: Assessment Accommodations

  As a result of the administration of the Connecticut Statewide Summative Assessments, there are several data collections that are used to collect Accommodation information for the Smarter Balanced Assessments, the NGSS Science Test and the Connecticut SAT School Day.

• NGSS Assessments

  This pages provides information about Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Assessments delivered in Grades 5, 8 and 11.

• About the Collection: ED165 - Connecticut School Data Report 

  The ED165: Connecticut School Data Report is used to collect a wide variety of data elements at the school-level for state and federal reporting.

• About the Collection: English Language Proficiency (ELP) Assessment Participation Exceptions

  Domain exemptions are available for students who are dually identified as English learners/multilingual learners (ELs/MLs) with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a Section 504 Plan.

• Concussion Education Plan and Guidelines for Connecticut Schools

  These guidelines provide accurate information, resources, and guidance for school districts to implement concussion education plans.

• About the Collection: Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO)

  The ECO data collection is required for all applicable students with an IEP at least 3 years of age and in the preschool grade.

• Coaching and Self-Reflection Tool for Competency in Teaching English Learners

  Aligned to Connecticut’s CCT Rubric for Effective Teaching, this tool is for professional development and growth as well as guiding observations and discussions.

• About the Collection: CT-SEDS Oct 1 Child Count (previously SEDAC)

  The CT-SEDS Oct 1 Child Count (previously SEDAC) is used to collect data regarding the provision of special education and related services. The data collected is required to provide measurement of each district’s and the state’s compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA).

• Why Mastery-Based Learning?

  Rather assuming that completing a number of hours in a classroom results in understanding, mastery-based learning requires students to demonstrate knowledge and skills before progressing to the next level. Mastery-based learning requires teachers to develop a more fine-grained understanding of student abilities.

• Special Milk Program (SMP)

  The U.S. Department of Agriculture's SMP provides low-fat (1%) or fat-free milk to children in public and private nonprofit schools and child care institutions that do not participate in other USDA Child Nutrition Programs.

• Area Eligibility for Child Nutrition Programs

  Information on schools with at least 50 percent of children eligible for free and reduced-price meals in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's school nutrition programs.
